Genre painting with rococo society resting in the landscape was executed in 1924 by listed Austrian painter, graphic artist and illustrator Theodor Detter (1886 Vienna  - 1957 Gmunden).  Son of architector Rudolf Detter, the artist studied in Art Academy in Munich  by Franz von Stuck.  Since 1914 worked as illustrator for famous magazine "Muskete". In the World War I -soldier .  From 1918 in Vienna, around 1930 in Muskau. 1933/34 in Switzerland, 1943/44 in Feldkirch, afterwards lived in  Gmunden. Humoristic paintings and portraits , frequently in the conventional taste of his clients. His self-portraits  and sketchy koloristic genre  scenes with historical  and religion motives in broad, loose brush guidance were more important  ("From the synagogue", around 1920); "Last communion " and "Grave putting" (both 1954), the expressionist. and kubist. elements take up. Besides expressive pieces of flower, in the last years of life strongly colored, developed small format pictures and abstract compositions.
