"The one on the right is Miss Emily Gladys Court RA ROI, familiarly known as
"Mimi". Miss Court lived at no 28 on the Chelsea side of Yeomans Row (a
cul-de-sac just round the corner from Harrods). The Williams family
over on the Kensington side at no 33. Miss Court's cats
went on holiday with them too! In the same house as Miss Court lived
Shakespearean actor Robert Harris, and later in the same flat,
man Billy Milton who made films in the UK and Hollywood and partnered
Mistinguett in cabaret in the Cafe de Paris.
Other artists living in the same street
Oliver Messel, Chloe Preston and Major MacNulty. Jack Gilroy who
the Guiness adverts lived nearby. Victor Steibel, dress designer was
at no 22. Brenda Dean Paul, the notorious socialite was at
